Hello & Welcome to My First Blog Post

Welcome to the launch of the new and improved Horderly website and my first blog post! My name is Jamie Hord of Horderly Professional Organizing and I am so excited to share with you MORE of what Horderly has to offer! The amount of ideas, how-to’s and inspiration whirling around in my head is ready to jump out. I wanted to start by telling you why I created this blog, what you will be seeing more of in my posts, and my overall experience of revamping my website.


Why I started my blog

Since I started my business, many of my friends have asked me “Why don’t you start a blog?!” and up until a few months ago did I truly know what a “blog” was. I never clicked on blog links, I never understood WHY people wrote blogs, I just thought it was a waste of time to even look into it. WRONG I WAS. After doing much research and making friends with a few bloggers along the way, who have been so kind to offer much support and advice, I have become completely consumed with inspiration to start a blog for Horderly. I have finally realized all of the benefits that blogging can bring.

What you will be seeing more of in my posts

Organization will obviously be the main topic of my blog, but get ready because you will be seeing much more of the face behind Horderly (me), and a mixture of lifestyle including my favorite fashion finds, products, and other small businesses. Writing has never been a strong suite of mine and I will tell you, I am no expert on any of this. I may be a “perfectionist” but I am nowhere near perfect. I figure it will be a lot of trial and error so please bear with me on any grammar/spelling mistakes (disclaimer – I like to talk with many dashes and parentheses) and please feel free to always share your advice and communicate with me along the way! I hope to inspire you because truthfully, you all inspire me and I am SO looking forward to bringing you a more organized way of living.


Revamp experience

After being inspired to start my blog, I wanted to act fast. This is not a fast task people. Not only did I want to start a blog, but after having my business for a year and a half now, I was ready to totally revamp my brand and website which I initially created on my own. Creating a website and/or blog is WORK and if you’re looking for that ideal web designer – be prepare to be on a waiting list (and pay a fortune). However, that did not happen to me. I was blessed to find the exact web designer I needed which I am excited to share with you a little bit about, Branded By Britt.

I trusted Brittney from the moment of first email. I reached out to her in a rush and she made sure to make the time to give me exactly what I was looking for, and she sure did! Now, I don’t know if Brittney had ever worked for a “Professional Organizer” before but I must say, it could not have been easy! Being a Professional Organizer naturally comes with a side of OCD and perfectionism (yes, I grew up this way) and she accommodated every single question, request, and tiny little detail in a timely and more than professional manner. The way she works is very organized (LOVE) and she keeps you up to date throughout the entire process. Her intelligence on web design is incredible and you can tell right away that she has a true passion for what she does. Branded By Britt not only offers branding and web design but WordPress support thereafter for those of you, like me, that have trouble when it comes to, well…all tech. To say the least, Britt has created the timeless brand and website that I was looking for and I couldn’t ask for anything more! THANK YOU BRITTNEY
