Horderly had the pleasure of organizing Kim Calleros’ kitchen. Kim is the General Manager at The Container Store Farmers Market in Los Angeles – and believe it or not, even Container Store employees need a helping hand when organizing their homes!

The Container Store does such a great job of taking care of their customers, so Horderly did its best to take care of one of their leaders. The Horderly 11-step process combined with Container Store products was the perfect combination to maximize functionality in Kim’s kitchen.

Here’s the project from Kim’s point of view:

How would you explain the “Horderly Experience” to a customer?

I can’t rave enough about this organizing process. I’ve shared it with customers, my team, friends and family. After this organizing session, I don’t know how I’ve lived life without the help of a professional organizer. My husband was amazed too and wants to have this done for the rest of our home!

What I’ve shared with customers so far is that it is life-changing. I’ve explained how helpful the team is and the process of working through your space. I’ve been encouraging them to just give it a try in one area and they’ll see for themselves how they too can be organized, but more importantly feel a sense of peace in the home when everything is in its place.

What did you learn about yourself throughout the process?

It felt good to get rid of all of the stuff! The way the team helps you process all of the things you have is really helpful. Each of the organizers were patient and didn’t rush me as I was trying to decide whether to keep something or not. It was very liberating to know that what I kept will work for me in the future, and the rest of the clutter that gets hauled out feels so good. Contentment is how I strive to live life and this cleaning and organizing process allows for you to let go of the things you don’t need and cherish what you do have.

What did you learn about organizing throughout the process?

My biggest take away is that we have professionals handle other areas of our lives; taxes, mechanics, etc. Why wouldn’t we consider having a professional organizer come and make sense of your home?

I like things to be organized, but I have realized that I’ve just put on band aids for so long in my home, it was functional, but not perfect. With organizing professionals, my kitchen is perfect! Everything was done in such a thoughtful way, considering how I interact and use the kitchen on a daily basis – this was really my favorite part because I felt heard and understood.

What is the most functional product or strategy Horderly recommended?

I love that I have a gadget drawer for all of my kitchen tools! This not only saved space on the counter, but it helped sort everything out and will certainly help me want to cook more often. This was definitely a puzzle for me. I never thought of using my drawer space in that way and I just LOVE the use of the space with the dividers and labels.

Horderly used Bamboo Deep Drawer Organizers to contain and separate Kim’s cooking tools.

It’s okay to ask for help!

I never thought of professional organizers in the way you think of professionals handling your taxes, car, etc but it makes so much sense. I love seeing all the spaces Horderly transforms, they are truly amazing

This is honestly my favorite post, I love the sliding affect of the before & after image. Amazing the interpretation of each person and how to use products from the container store. Everyone uses them so different. Great change to the space! thanks for sharing
