5 Things To Toss in 2025

Feeling overwhelmed by stuff? You deserve to live clutter-free! As we enter into the new year, let’s leave unwanted and unused items in 2024!

Clothing You Didn’t Wear Last Year

Often our clients want to keep clothing that they are not wearing due to aspirations of a day or occasion where they might wear the item. But keeping clothing you are not using creates unnecessary clutter that keeps you from seeing and wearing the items you do love. If you can go a full 365 days without reaching for it, you probably don’t need it cluttering up your space!

Food Derailing Your Goals

To maximize your chance of success, it’s time to toss foods that are out of alignment with the healthy habits you are working towards in 2025. Consider taking an honest look at your pantry and getting rid of items that foster unhealthy habits. It’s important to not fall back into repurchasing these items once you’ve made the commitment to clear them out! Be intentional with your grocery shopping by making a list and sticking to it.

Unread Books

We are all guilty of having eyes bigger than our free time when it comes to our book collections. In the spirit of “fresh starts”, go through your book shelves to decide what you actually plan to read in your precious free time. Streamline and cut down your selection so you can actually achieve your book goals! Bring the rest of the books to a local little free library to share the wealth!

Nightstand Nightmare

When was the last time you decluttered your nightstand? Time for a refresh! This is an area that often collects trash. Make sure to give yourself a proper edit by taking everything out of the drawers, cubbies, and surfaces and going through each item one-by-one to decide: keep, toss, or donate. Having a decluttered nightstand will help clear your mind before bed instead of making you feel suffocated with clutter.

Workout clothing

Let’s be honest: we probably all have more workout clothing than we actually need. Think about how often you are going to the gym, what amount of clothing you need per workout session, and how often you do laundry. Then do the math:

  • Gym workout 3x/week
  • Wearing per workout:
    • 1 sports bra
    • 1 workout top
    • 1 pair of leggings
    • 1 pair of athletic socks
    • Seasonal: 1 workout jacket
  • Laundry 1x/week
  • This means I need:
    • 3 sports bras
    • 3 workout tops
    • 3  pairs of leggings
    • 3 pairs of athletic socks
    • 2-3 workout jackets

TIP: add 1-2  extra items to each category and you’re set! Time to donate the rest.
