How to Organize Your Makeup

For the makeup-obsessed, organizing your beauty products is super important to make your beauty routine as seamless as possible. Whether it’s a collection of lipsticks or eye shadows, every item needs a proper home!

Before setting up the perfect storage systems for your makeup, make sure you’re editing each piece and tossing any expired or broken products – and keep only what you’re actually going to use.

When strategizing placement, keep all like products together. For example, keep all eyeshadows together, all coverups together or all mascaras together. If your beauty stash is really large, consider setting aside “everyday” makeup vs. makeup you just wear for special events or occasions.

Here are Horderly’s favorite ways to keep your makeup collection neat and tidy:

Store in Drawers

If counter space is limited, use drawers to store and divide your makeup into categories. These pretty drawer organizers are the perfect solution to creating a custom drawer system based on the products you have.

Put on Display

If you like to see and display your prettiest products, corral them in acrylic storage containers. These containers can be stacked or laid out side-by-side for easy access. The stackable design allows you to choose different-sized drawers and top-level containment to fit your entire collection, no matter how big or small.

Create A Makeup Bag

If you’re always on the go, creating a functional makeup bag may be the best solution for you! Easy to use at home, or in a hotel room, get a makeup bag that will protect your products from breaking, spilling or leaking. We love this hanging toiletry bag to safely store all of our makeup!
