Get Organized Over the Holiday Weekend
President’s Day Weekend is right around the corner – and what better way to use your time than to focus on getting organized?
Here are a few tasks you can get done in a long weekend that will make your life so much easier!
Declutter
No matter what room in your home you want to get organized, decluttering is one of the most important steps!
First, take all items off shelves, out of cabinets, out of boxes etc. and sort them into piles by category.
Next, work pile-by-pile to decide which items to keep, toss or donate – and set a goal to bring any items you’re donating to your local dropoff center by the end of the long weekend!
Reviewing each and every item you own and deciding what to keep will help your space feel so much lighter!
Check for Expiration Dates
Whether it’s in your kitchen checking food items, your bathroom checking toiletries and beauty products, or your laundry room checking laundry essentials, it’s important to review perishable items regularly.
Over the long weekend, commit to going through all perishable items in your home and tossing expired foods or products away! If you need to replace an expired item, keep a list on a notepad or a list on your phone so you can pick it up during your next shopping trip!

Sort Your Books
If you’re a bookworm who can’t say goodbye to your books, that’s okay!
Over the long weekend, sort your books by genre, or by color, so that accessing and displaying your collection is easier than ever! It will also give your home a quick refresh!
Perfect Your Work from Home Space
While many of us are still working from home, it’s more important than ever to commit to creating a calming, functional space to work at home.
No matter where you’re working – whether it’s a proper office setup, a makeshift office space, or the coveted cloffice – it’s important to set up space where you can log on, and then log off and walk away once the workday is over.
Creating these distinguished spaces will help your mind and body realize when it’s time to work, and when it’s okay to shut off.
