3 Ways to Organize Your Shoes

Tired of shoes bombarding you every time you open your closet door? Or maybe you have a smaller collection, but aren’t sure which product will best utilize your space. Regardless of where you are on your organizing journey, Horderly has your back! Below, we outline our 3 favorite ways to maximize and customize your shoe storage to fit your collection size, design style, and space.

Shoe Shelves

Shoe shelves have become one of our favorite closet storage recommendations due to their flexibility, functionality, ease of use, and now style! Shoe shelves are a great solution for grab-and-go shoes or shoes that you want to display, but can also be used for a variety of other items in your home where you might need vertical storage space. These acrylic stackable shoe shelves are adored by our clients for their one of a kind aesthetic and design. Stack a few of these stunning shelves to create a shoe display in your closet, making it feel like your very own shoe store. Have a growing collection? We’ve stacked these white wooden stackable shoe shelves 10-high to create an entire shoe wall for our clients!

TIP: Looking for a way to maintain your boot collection so it lasts the test of time? We recommend using boot shapers to maintain the integrity of the boot’s shape, allowing them to last longer.

Over-the-Door Shoe Storage

A great option for maximizing space in your closet is to utilize the back of your closet door to store shoes (accessories, & more!) using an over the door organizer. This fabric organizer comes with 20 sturdy pockets, suitable for most types of shoes, and either Residential (1 ⅜”) or Commercial (1 ⅝”) over the door hooks to fit any door thickness. Just slide the hooks onto your door and you’re ready to start storing your collection!

TIP: You can get the entire fabric set, including this over the door organizer, hamper, two large bins, and two small bins to streamline the organizational systems in your closet with style.

Shoe Boxes

Have a priceless collection? Instead of keeping shoes in their original boxes, consider using clear shoe boxes to create a uniform organizational solution that keeps your shoes covered and allows you to see everything you own. They come in a variety of sizes, including a “tall” option for high heels, and easily stack on shelves, or even on your closet floor to provide vertical storage for your collection. We typically recommend these boxes for shoes that are less frequently accessed because you have the additional step of removing a lid, or in some cases, taking down a stack to grab the box you’re looking for. Drop front shoe boxes can help eliminate one of those two steps, but are still recommended for shoes outside of your daily rotation. Don’t love the look of the clear boxes?
