Many schools around the country are finally opening their doors again this fall. While the past year and a half has been unprecedented for our children and students everywhere, it’s time to get organized to safely send them back to the classroom!
Creating organizational systems for your children is super important, especially after recovering from an unprecedented pandemic era. When your child is organized, they become more independent and their stress levels are reduced. If your children know what they want and where to find it, they can do more on their own, which gives them a great sense of independence and self-esteem.
Here are some helpful systems to set in place to keep your child organized – and healthy – this school year:
To-Go Safety Kit
If we’ve learned anything over the past year, it’s that washing your hands and keeping clean is super important. Create a travel-sized safety kit for your child to keep in their backpack, and remind your children to sanitize regularly when they’re at school!
Use a travel pouch to store items like hand sanitizer, wipes, tissues, bandaids and any other cleaning or safety supplies your child may need at school.
Find the Right Backpack
Having a backpack with multiple compartments will make it easier for your child to store and find different items – making it easier to grab and go as needed! Keep in mind that your child will have different backpack needs depending on his or her age.
For younger children, we love the Stash It backpacks because of their durability. These backpacks come with two separate zippered compartments, allowing your child to store books and notepads in one, and accessories in the other.
For the older students who use laptops at school, we love the Stackers Laptop Backpack. Its interior compartment includes a padded sleeve that fits a 15-inch laptop, additional notebook pockets, a detachable key strap, and a pouch large enough to hold a water bottle. The three outer pockets provide storage for items like pens, glasses or cord storage. There’s even a removable coin purse!
Keep School Supplies Contained
The zippered, vinyl and mesh pouches are a Horderly favorite to store everything from writing utensils, to electronics and even notepads. The durable, weather-resistant design makes it kid-proof too! These pouches are sure to last the school year in one piece.
For backpacks with less compartment space, these pouches are great to create makeshift sections in your child’s backpack.
